I am Nato Javakhia, an energetic, goal-oriented, and versatile English language teacher with 17 years of experience. I have been teaching with love, warmth, and the firm belief that education is the most powerful weapon that can change the world.
I work in Kakheti, in the village of Matimi, Lagodekhi municipality – at Matimi Public School and also at My European School.
For the past six years, I have also been teaching in the Access Lagodekhi Program, where, in addition to English, I help teenagers develop leadership, self-awareness, critical thinking, and cross-cultural communication skills. For me, teaching is not just a profession- it’s a way of life. When you work not only to help children learn English but also to teach them to think independently and grow into better human beings — that is the true mission.
My teaching philosophy is simple: knowledge should be connected to joy. I believe that learning gains real power only when a student feels inspired, not forced. That’s why each of my lessons aims to help students discover their abilities and believe that they are capable of more than they ever imagined. I don’t just teach a language — I teach life, values, and the importance of human connections.
I want every lesson to leave my students feeling that they can do anything, that their words matter, and that their opinions are valued. I want school to be a place where they feel appreciated, trusted, and believed in. When a student leaves the classroom smiling and says, “Will we meet again tomorrow?”, that is the greatest recognition and motivation for me — a reason to do even more for them in the next lesson.
My goal is for my students to understand that knowledge is freedom — a kind of freedom that can lead them anywhere they dream to go, as long as they truly believe and strive for it.
My greatest motivation is my students’ progress. It is a true happiness to witness a child who once struggled to speak English eventually stand on stage and express their thoughts with confidence. Their sincere smiles, their engagement, and the words, “Teacher, I learned a lot today!” give me tremendous strength and remind me that my work is truly meaningful.
For me, the learning process itself holds the highest importance. Results always follow when a child feels happy and inspired by what happens in the classroom. I often tell my students:
“Every mistake is a bridge that teaches us how to walk.”
I strive to ensure that they are not afraid of making mistakes but rather learn from them and view progress as a natural part of their journey. Learning is not only a goal but also a path, where every single step matters.
Teamwork lies at the heart of everything I do. Whether in the Access program, my theatre club, or the English clubs within the Regional Development Foundation, students constantly learn collaboration and mutual respect. I teach them that true success only comes when you listen to others’ ideas and value different perspectives. In a team, everyone has their own unique role and together, they create results greater than any individual could achieve alone.
In today’s world, technology is an inseparable part of our daily lives, therefore, a modern educator must be flexible, creative, and technologically literate. I constantly learn new approaches and participate in various trainings and international programs. I am a mentor in the joint TESOL and Leadership programs of Texas A&M University and Grigol Robakidze University, where I share my experience with colleagues while also gaining new knowledge myself. In addition, I actively use online platforms, video lessons, interactive games, Kahoot, Quizlet, Canva, and other digital tools in the teaching and learning process. For me, technology is not just a means but an opportunity, it can turn a lesson into a lively, dynamic, and engaging experience for students.
One simple but powerful principle guides me: be a little better today than you were yesterday. This belief drives me to keep growing, learning new things, helping others, and sharing what I know. I strive never to lose the curiosity and wonder of childhood. Perhaps that’s why I’m so drawn to miniature objects and soft toys. They remind me of the warmth and innocence of childhood, qualities that help me connect deeply with my students’ world.
This immense energy comes from the love I have for my family, my students, and my profession. I have a husband and two children, and our family shares a creative spirit. We love nature, traveling, and animals, our pets are full members of our family whose warmth and joy for life always give me strength. I find inspiration in colors, light, mountains, and people, they fill my days with joy and constant motivation. Watching others grow and develop alongside me is the greatest reward. Today, I see myself as more than just a teacher — I am a leader, a mentor, a friend, and a creator who learns together with students every day. For me, the classroom is a space built on trust, freedom, and love. And if anyone ever asks why I chose this path, my answer is simple: because education has the power to change lives and I want to be part of that change.
